Reflection, Looking Back

Well last week I have to admit that I could have done much better with my time management. I made plans to do my homework, clean my room, and meet with my instructors and I barely got through my homework! I could have finished my homework by Saturday if I would have followed my plans accordingly. Last week was really unproductive week and I am a bit disappointed in the outcomes. I have no excuses, it was my fault and I admit it. I didn’t follow these plans at all because I decided other things are more important than to do my homework. I looked at my time schedule and I became confident that I had enough time to finish, but it back fired. Now I realize that if I look at time as plentiful then I’m destined to fail. On the bright side I did use my reading strategies in the homework I read, like talking to the text and previewing. The information I read stayed in my head longer and I was able to answer the prompts in my English class more easily. I got a better score in my essays and I learned more of the material! This week will be more productive and much better than last week because I surely don't like the feeling of pressure of holding off to the last minute. Changing the way I view time can really help with my situation. I can change the outcomes in many ways like learning how to say no, going to a less distracting area, and keeping up with my schedule. I need to adjust on how I manage my time. I need to always write in my agenda.  I should make more reasonable time schedules and think about the alternatives if the unexpected happens. I will apply this to my next week’s schedule and see how it turns out. Next week sounds pretty productive!

Vocabulary #2

Feasibility

I think feasibility means easiness, flexibility

In terms of immediacy of action and the feasibility of bringing about reductions in a short period of time, it clearly is the most attractive opportunity.

If you dedicate yourself self to do something you really want to do, it's definitely feasible.

Contemporary

I think contemporary means bad, horrible,

Among the main sources of the food system's impact on climate are land changes, especially the expansion of palm oil production, and effects caused by contemporary agricultural practices, including the emissions produced by livestock.

The time the Xbox 360 and the Ps4 are almost contemporary.

Implications

I think Implications means effects, causes, harmful

These processed foods--- along with other popular products, including cosmetics, soaps, shampoo, even fabric softeners--- share a common ingredient, one with enormous climate implications: palm oil.

My brother or sister had an implication on who took the last cookie.

War Stories Reflection

Well I have several stories that changed my life, well biographies of people I never knew that had problems similar to me. I always thought that they had perfectly great thinking levels. That these people were born with that gift. That they did great in schools, always had A's, honors, and had the gift of learning things with great capacity. Nope it was the exact opposite, they were considered worthless, bad at school, and they we're told that they never amount to munch.  One revolutionized the world with a fantastic invention that is still used today, and the other is a genius and defined gravity and his theory of relatively. These famous people are Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein. Both of these icons had learning disabilities and did terrible school. Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times till he made the light bulb.Albert Einstein got expelled from high school but graduated from a prestigious University.  Reading the stories of these guys, in what they went through, inspired me to never give up. That I could be as smart as they are, get the knowledge I need to succeed. This opened my brain to new possibilities, that their is no such thing as a person having a fixed set of knowledge. If I want to learn something then I definitely can learn it. I cant let this learning disability that I have limit me anymore. Nobody becomes smart if they don't try and be willing to sacrifice. They changed the way I look at life. They taught me that nothing is limited, that if I want it, I go and get it. Life is too short to be wasting your time sitting in your couch thinking"what if". Stop thinking and get off that couch a get working because nothing, I repeat nothing, is going to come to you if you just sit there. Studying is going to be the most difficult thing I would ever face in my life, but as long as I don't give up, and dedicate myself I can surely be as smart as Einstein and Edison.

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning."

Life's Backpack Reflection

Well my life's backpack can be overly complicated, it is very heavy, unorganized, and full of emotions that can be unbearable to carry at times. Is it because of my lack of organization or indecisiveness that leads me wondering or is it fear that's keeping my backpack from opening at times. Everyday I wonder why the same things happens, why do they happen, and why don't I do something about it, but is wondering about this is what is keeping my backpack shut at times. Well at times I do think so but, I got more important things to worry about in my backpack, college, work, emotions, troubles, and my well being add serious weight. Worries about getting a college degree, giving up school for some reason, losing family support, not finding a job, and being financially stable. All these worries wears out my backpack, but every time I take a look inside I see a message that keeps me going, "Don't you wait, do it, Don't give up,keep going, finish what you started, no matter how hard it gets keep your head up and push that obstacle out of the way like their's no tomorrow!" My backpack isn't all full of negativity and wear and tear; it has its positive side that keeps the backpack from tearing up. The kind that say's I can get through this! I can be successful! and I can be Happy! Giving me the essentials I desperately need for my battle that I face everyday, the battle... to stay alive.
